MADO OBUSAN

Mado Obusan a.k.a Wati Mado is a self-taught visual artist. Her works are mostly illustrations and paintings of cats, nature and music. She had illustrated for publications and workbooks about agricultural biodiversity and sustainable agriculture. Mado started joining art shows in 2007, she had exhibited her works in Metro Manila, Baguio City and New York City. 

Aside from art. Mado had formal training in piano during high school and joined her school marching band to play the xylophone, and marimba which further her interest and knowledge in music. Mado got enchanted on hand drums while in college and self-trained to play the bongos which she become fond of. Mado is currently intrigued with fractal art, cymatics, rife frequencies and lo-fi music. Children's book about magic, witches and fairies still captivates her imagination. Mado is on her 44th orbit in the sun which begun on the 14th day of September 1977.
